excuse his language, but the context of his speech is so motivating that it will encourage to search google and learn more about him, or at least I did.

He started his speech by introducing himself, he immigrated to US with his family when he was 3 and at the age of 6, started his business as selling lemonade, and then baseball cards.
At the age of 13 he had 13000$ cash and he was very proud of the money that he could earn as a child. Then he joined his father liquor store and started to learn about his business thinking how he can imporve it and he added the customers by receiving back orders for the popular kind of wine and eventually he transformed his father business into one of the largest online wine retailers.

As he was working toward his online wine business, he learned quite a bit about the IT and social media and how businesses are growing to be more online and how more people are attracted to shop online and how TV commercial are outdated!

He said when it comes to social media, I think most companies are putting a couple of chips on the table, I’m all in. He was enforcing on how engaging with other people is the key to build a successful business as most people like to do business with people they know, people like to be heard and feel like their opinion matters and that is how he spend hours of his time discussing fish and red wine and talking on his video blogs with people to relate to them. He said he spends hours and hours either talking, twitting, video blogging, or somehow get engaged with people. He has about 850000 followers on twitter! As one to one is the future! And although technology is very important but knowing the basic needs of each customer matters most, conversations are actions taken by your audience that lead to end up as sales so to summerize he put it nicely in these words as all go Jetsons, we go Flintstones!

He is insisting on the concept of Context over Content, he thinks content is important but context is the king. Because there is so much content comes through that there’s only so much you can consume. The marketing method of push, push, push is no longer effective, it is pull that is working! To be a good presenter used to be a good method for marketing but  for the first time ears matter more than your mouth. And that is a humonogous shift!

He said don’t treat social media marketing like a one night stand!!! trying to close the deal on the first transaction. Originally when e-commerce has taken off, people were afraid to input their information online, social media marketing is new too and will be in place pretty soon, as everything is shifting toward that. But remember people don’t embrace shifts but it is inevitable!

And he finished his speech with an awesome Q and A, but before that he just mentioned idears are good, but execution is the game. So the next time one of your friends rolls up on you and says ‘oh, they stole my idea!’, just punch him in the mouth!!!

These were as much as I could digest and this was my first time that I heard about him! I found his speech pretty motivating and did like to search more about him and learn more about his ideas, if you like what your read, can do the same and get into the GAME!
